Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring with me to the signing?

You must present one valid, government-issued photo ID. Acceptable forms include: State-issued Driver’s License or Identification Card Military Identification Passport If you have questions about whether your identification is acceptable, please contact us before your appointment.

What is a Notary Public?

A Notary Public is a public official commissioned by the State of Indiana to serve as an impartial witness during the signing of documents. Notaries verify identity, witness signatures, administer oaths or affirmations, and complete notarial certificates in accordance with Indiana law.

Does notarizing a document make it true & legally valid?

No. Notarization does not verify the accuracy, legality, or content of a document. It only confirms that the signer personally appeared before the notary, was properly identified, and signed willingly. A Notary Public is not authorized to determine whether a document is legal, correct, or enforceable.

How long does a typical notary signing take?

Appointment length varies depending on the type and number of documents being notarized. Some appointments take only a few minutes, while others—such as estate or multi-document signings—may take longer.

I was sent a document from another state. Can it be notarized in Indiana?

In most cases, yes. The notarization is governed by the laws of the state where the notarization takes place. The notarial certificate will reflect the Indiana venue, and Indiana notary law will apply.

What determines the cost of a mobile notary appointment?

The cost of a mobile notary appointment is based on the number of notarial acts requested, the type of service being provided, and the level of mobile convenience required to deliver the service. Statutory notarial fees are set by Indiana law. Additional permitted service fees may apply for mobile availability, scheduling, appointment timing, and optional add-on services. All fees are disclosed before an appointment is confirmed.

Are mobile notary services as legitimate as in-office notary services?

Yes. Mobile notary services are fully legitimate and follow the same legal requirements as in-office notarizations. The difference is convenience—the notary travels to the client’s location rather than requiring the client to travel to an office.

Do I need to sign a service agreement?

Yes. A service agreement is required for all appointments and must be signed electronically before services are provided.

How does payment work?

A reservation or non-performance fee may be required to secure your appointment. Remaining service fees are typically due after services are completed. Payment instructions are provided electronically.

What happens if my appointment cannot be completed?

If an appointment cannot be completed due to a no-show, missing identification, incomplete documents, refusal to sign, or similar non-service conditions, applicable reservation or non-performance fees may apply as outlined in the service agreement.

Can you provide legal advice or help prepare my documents?

No. Notarial services are ministerial in nature. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice or legal document drafting services.

What if I need same-day or urgent service?

Same-day or urgent appointments may be available when scheduling permits. Requests should clearly note “Same-Day” or “Urgent” at the time of submission. Availability is not guaranteed.
